Common mistakes and their fixes
- Losing count during Rounds 3 to 6
- Slip stitch to close each round before starting the next chain-1, and count stitches against the 20 total each time. Losing even one stitch here throws off the even spacing of petals in Round 7.
- Working the petal chain-2 loop too loosely
- Keep the chain-2 and its slip stitch into the second chain from the hook snug, since a loose loop leaves petals limp instead of pointed.
- Attaching the flower with a single stitch
- Single crochet at one point and then directly opposite it, as instructed, rather than one point alone. One attachment point lets the flower spin on the chain.

Assembly, in order

Set-up
