Common mistakes and their fixes
- Losing count on the split-round color change
- Body Rounds 5-6, mark the point where Light Brown ends and Broken White begins with a scrap of yarn or a locking marker before working the round, since a plain stitch count won't tell you where the color should land.
- Starting the snout like a magic ring
- The snout and part of the head begin with a chain of 4 or 6 worked on both sides, not a magic ring; work the specified sc count up one side, place 3 sc in the last chain, then continue down the other side.
- Placing the eyes without a stitch count guide
- Glue the eyes between rows 10-11 and measure 7 stitches apart before securing them, rather than eyeballing the gap, since amigurumi faces read as off-center at even small spacing errors.

Set-up

- Read Body Rounds 5-6 before starting, since the color split (6 sc A, 6 sc B, 12 sc A) needs to be placed correctly around the round, not just counted.
- Place a stitch marker at the start of Round 1 for every part -- the pattern works in a continuous spiral, so there is no chain to mark the join.

Finishing
